Let's Eat: Just add bacon.

Bacon of the Month: Wrapped in Bacon by Jeremy Kelso on Jul 13, 2011 | Posted in: Food, Recipes

Need a sure fire way to jazz up that shrimp?  Do you have a nice gamey meat but don’t know what to do with it?  Do you shy away from asparagus from lack of flavor?

The solution is clear (and obvious from the title) – wrap it in bacon!

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound Shrimp
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 12 ounces Bacon
  • Jar of jalapenos (optional)
  • toothpicks
  • peanut oil (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 OR preheat deep fryer to 375
  2. Peel and devein the shrimp
  3. Cut bacon slices in half
  4. Place a shrimp, a jalapeno, and a dab of cream cheese on the end of the bacon
  5. Roll or wrap it up and use a toothpick to hold it together
  6. Bake at 350 until the bacon is crispy (about 10 – 15 minutes) OR deep fry for 3 minutes.

Big flavor in a little bite!

That's what I call eating your veggies

Just more proof that everything, even stuff that already taste good, taste better with bacon!
