I saw Toy Story 3 last night with a couple of friends and I have to say that Pixar has outdone themselves again. All of your favorite toys are back as well as lots of new ones.

Jessie, Buzz and Woody.
Toy Story 3 takes place ten years after the previous movie and Andy is getting ready to leave for college. Woody and the gang haven’t been played with in years and attempt one last time to get Andy’s attention before being packed up and stored in the attic.
All of the original voice actors have returned for the final chapter in the Toy Story saga except for Jim Varney (Slinky Dog) who died in 2000 and has been replaced by Blake Clark. As always, the Pixar animators have created a beautiful and engrossing world full of dynamic characters and vibrant scenes and Randy Newman has provided another timeless soundtrack. For me however, the standout track on the soundtrack is the one song that was not performed by Newman. The Gypsy Kings have recorded a spanish version of “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” (“Hay Un Amigo En Mi”) that is a fun, Latin-styled take on the Toy Story theme song.
While it is a little sad that this is the finale to the Toy Story series, it is a grand finale and the story, as with all of Pixar’s films, has something for everyone from kids to adults. This movie will join the others as a classic that will be enjoyed for years to come. Toy Story 3 isn’t my favorite Pixar movie–that title still belongs to WALL•E–but I have no reservations about recommending it to everyone. Go see it!
If you’re wondering wether I saw it in 3D or not, I didn’t. I’m not a big fan of 3D movies; besides the increased price at the theater, I love vibrant colors and those Buddy Holly glasses they give you to watch it with dull them for me. I don’t feel like I missed anything by not seeing Toy Story 3 in 3D and it was never obvious to me which scenes would have really showcased the 3D technology.
